DevPod, ProsteZapisy, and Infrastructure Work
This is a summary of what I did from Wednesday to Friday.
- In the mornings, I spent time working on my homelab and configuring DevPod so I could use my own environment on different machines and VPSs.
- I spent many hours working on new graphics for the ProsteZapisy website, www.prostezapisy.pl. I will probably update the website and deploy the changes in one or two days, depending on how much time I have over the weekend. A couple of days ago, I also changed the architecture and migrated from Expo/React Native to React for the web. I am using a web stack at the moment. With that decision, I am now able to push changes much more quickly and also think through changes to the application. Thanks to the agents, I was able to accomplish this task much faster than if I had written the code myself.
- At work, I keep using the Sol agent with its thinking level set to high for most tasks related to code changes.
- The issue I created in my personal time tracker still bothers me, but I don't have time to actually fix it. I also don't want to ask an agent to fix it.
- Most of my time at work was spent creating an infrastructure repository that would allow my team to use a Dockerfile and a couple of Bash scripts to bootstrap and set up everything needed to run the project. This includes the frontend, the SSO frontend, and the backends. It also includes the in-flight server, dock simulator, Cesium simulator, and MQTT messaging, which allow the services to communicate with each other. That task took me many hours of writing, thinking, and fixing bugs. I am happy with the solution. The most interesting part was putting a couple of files behind a password-protected Nginx server. The server protects those files and allows my team to download them via
curlover HTTPS. The next step will probably be to protect those important files with SOPS, using age to encrypt them. - Bad Code Is Kudzu—what is your kudzu? The article made me think more about how to use AI to clean up after itself.
