What did I do today?

  • I spent the morning working on and improving my DevPod workflow. Configured tmux and added additional files to my dotfiles repo: tmux commit. The next step I am working on is using private files that are also included in GitHub but encrypted, so I can share configuration and secrets across various devices. The plan is to use the Bitwarden CLI to store a secret key that could be used by mise or chezmoi during the installation process.
  • Listened to music on YouTube with Norwegian scenery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2el_IioJHU
  • OpenAI did not perform well in this test: Diarization - OpenAI vs Flow
  • Worked on using gh with two accounts, two repos, and SSH. I had to log in to the second account with gh auth login --hostname github.com, and then:
gh auth status
gh auth switch --hostname github.com --user USERNAME

The proper way was to create SSH aliases to select the right account:

Host github.com # that is my private account
       HostName github.com
       User git
       IdentityFile ~/.ssh/keys/id_rsa.github
       IdentitiesOnly yes

   Host github-sk1
       HostName github.com
       User git
       IdentityFile ~/.ssh/keys/sk1
       IdentitiesOnly yes

   Host bitbucket-sk2
       HostName bitbucket.org
       User git
       IdentityFile ~/.ssh/keys/sk2
       IdentitiesOnly yes

ssh -T <host in ssh config>

  • One repository I work on now has two remote addresses. I could also rename origin: git remote rename <from> <to>. At this moment, my life is much easier. A local branch can also be renamed even though its upstream is different.
  • Preserved an Atuin search query. Added this to ~/.config/atuin/config.toml:
exit_mode = "return-query"
