What I did today: Friday busy morning
- At work, I was going deeper into the in-flight server that connects the app with drones and ADS-es. By going deeper, I mean trying to understand what is really happening there—line by line.
- Writing my reflection on motivation. I notice that when I wake up, I don't have the motivation to do things. I need approximately 30 minutes of writing, reflection, or silence to get it back. Yes, silence is the space in which my motivation arises. Some time ago, I used to be nervous that I should have motivation right away. But no, it's not there, and that is OK. I will work on it anyway.
https://github.com/k3s-io/k3s-ansible In the Kubecraft community, someone spoke about this tool. It allows me to spin up a K3s cluster via Ansible on a machine. That might be useful if, in the future, I want to move from one provider to another. I hope to use Kubernetes for prostezapisy.pl at some point.
I spent 25 minutes doing kata—I practiced kubectl commands today. scale — changes the desired number of Pod replicas.
kubectl scale deployment web --replicas=3describe — shows detailed information about a resource.
kubectl describe service webrun — creates a Pod, often for temporary testing.
kubectl run test-client --image=curlimages/curl --restart=Never --rm -i -- curl http://webexpose — creates a Service from an existing workload.
kubectl expose deployment web --port=80 --type=ClusterIPget — lists resources and their current status.
kubectl get podsport-forward — temporarily forwards a local port to a Kubernetes resource.
kubectl port-forward deployment/web 8080:80- Getting ready for Albania. One week off. Even though I will not have access to a PC, I set up Codex with access to a couple of my Git repositories in case I need to fix a bug on the websites I run.
- During my trip to Albania, my homelab will be down.
